Least ExpensiveThe Chicago Transit Authority offers a 40 minute ride to the Loop where you can either pick up a cab or transfer to another train or bus. It is a long walk to the train station and stairs are involved. You may wish to seek alternate transportation if you have bulky lugguage. Please Click Here for directions to the Blue Line Station at O'Hare It is about a 40-minute ride to the "loop." Get off at any "loop" (downtown) station (Clark and Washington are the closest). You will be underneath Dearborn Street. When you emerge you can easily hail a cab to Fourth Church, or you can walk one block east to State Street and take the bus to Fourth Church by waiting at any bus stop on the east side of the street to catch a 145, 146 or 151 bus. Ask the bus driver, "Do you go to Water Tower Place?" if you feel uncertain that it is the right bus. Give the bus driver your transfer. You will get off at Water Tower Place (on your right), and will be able to see Fourth Church (on your left) right across the street. Enter "O'Hare" as your landmark starting point and the address of your hotel or the "John Hancock Tower" (which is directly across the street from the front door of Fourth Presbyterian Church) as the landmark for your destination. Expect to pay around $35 to $40.

It is a long walk to the train station and stairs are involved. Do not count on the elevators or escalators working. You may wish to seek alternate transportation if you have bulky lugguage. Please Click Here for directions to the Orange Line Station at Midway. The Orange Line will let you off on an elevated train track above Wabash Street. (Best stops are Randolph or State St.) You will go down a flight of stairs and walk one block west to get to State Street to catch a bus to the church, or you should easily be able to hail a cab from that location. -- Or, change at the Roosevelt stop to the Red line (toward Howard) and ride it to the Chicago stop.
