We have arranged for a conference rate at a variety of hotels in the area. These rates also apply one day before and one day after the conference.

RESERVE EARLY! Not only does each hotel have a conference rate cut-off date set for early to mid-October; there is another conference in town right around the same time. Rooms may be hard to come by for the procrastinator.

America's Best Inn & Suites

(formerly a Ramada Inn),
1837 Union St.

One block from Idlewild. $69/night, single or double. Free parking. No restaurant, but a good selection of eateries in the neighborhood and a continental breakfast in the morning. Wireless internet available in the room. Call 901-278-4100 for reservations before October 15

French Quarter Suites Hotel

2144 Madison Ave (at Cooper)

25-minute walk from Idlewild, in the Overton Square area. $79/night. single or double. Restaurant. Bar with live jazz Friday and Saturday nights. Free parking. Call 901-728-4000 for reservations before October 2.

Hampton Inn Medical Center

Midtown, 1180 Union Ave.

$79/night. single or double.  Just off I-240 at Exit 30. Free continental breakfast. Free parking. On bus line to Idlewild.  901-276-1175 for reservations before Oct. 15.

Doubletree Inn

(formerly the Radisson Downtown), 185 Union Ave.

Newly renovated. $99 single/double; $109 triple, $119 quad.  Near Beale Street and riverfront. Restaurant.. Valet parking.  On bus line to Idlewild. Call 901-528-1800 for reservations before Oct. 24 (date extended!).

Low-cost housing

St. Columba Episcopal Conference Center in the suburb of Bartlett. Beautiful wooded setting; 30-minute drive from Idlewild. $25/night. Dorm-style housing, 4 bunk beds per room; common room with fireplace and kitchen. Reservations must be made through the Covenant Network office.  Call 415-351-2196 or e-mail Rosemary Bledsoe before Oct. 15.

Deadline for all Registrations is October 31, 2005.

Registration is now closed - but please come to the conference and check in at the registration desk if you are in the area and want to attend a presentation.


Each registration fee includes entry to all plenary sessions and workshops, conference materials, refreshments at morning and afternoon breaks, Thursday dinner and welcoming reception, Friday lunch and dinner, and the CovNet Young Adult reception.

  • Early Bird Registration:  $110 for registrations prior to September 15 (closed)
  • Regular Registration: $135 for registrations betweeen September 15 & October 22 (closed)
  • Last Minute Registration: $160 for registrations between October 22 & October 31

    Seminarians attend free, but we still need a registration form.

By Car

Idlewild Presbyterian Church has plenty of parking. On-line directions to the church and a map of the building can be found at their website

 

 

 

Taxi and Shuttle

The options are limited for those without a car. The Memphis Aiport has a web page for ground transportation, including links to car rental agencies. 

The hotels listed do not have a shuttle to and from the airport.

Taxi fare to the American Best or the French Quarter Inn should be around $16 one way; to the Doubletree Hotel, about $22.

Shuttle Service from the Conference

There will be two shuttle runs to the airport on Saturday right after the conference at 1:20 pm and 1:45 pm.

Secure baggage storage will be available at the church on Saturday morning.

You must reserve your seat (part of the registration form) before October 20th.
