Presbyterians,
at our best, make decisions as a community. Those decisions are
based sources of authority and guidance. In this video presentation,
Dr. Jack Rogers explores the three books that are foundational to our
denomination. He explains the seven principles for interpreting
the Bible adopted by the church, and ten doctrines characteristic of our
Book of Confessions, as well as the principles of representative government
in our Book of Order.
Having served on national task forces that developed the principles of
biblical interpretation and our most recent confession, A Brief Statement
of Faith, Dr. Rogers gives insights, (sometimes humorous), into these
books.
This one hour video can be used in a variety of settings. It can be divided
into three parts for discussion in three adult education sessions or used
in a session retreat. In all situations, persons wanting to know what
are the fundamentals of our Presbyterian belief will find this a basic,
helpful treatment that all Presbyterians can share.
