Eternal God, One in Three, Three in One, your overflowing love is beyond understanding, beyond words, beyond measure. Yet we long to praise you, to love you in thought, word, and deed. You are the One God to Whom, by Whom and in Whom we offer our praise; You are the One to Whom, by Whom, and in Whom we pray. Holy One, your glory helps us to see our beauty and our brokenness and our place within your good creation. As we seek to live as redeemed sinners, created in your image, as we struggle to live into your Shalom, be for us Rainbow of Promise, Ark of Salvation, Dove of Peace. Wise One, your voice calls to us in Scripture, song and prayer. May we listen when you call; may we tell your truth in preaching and in practice. May we turn to you for guidance. Teach us to follow, to trust, to obey, for You are Speaker, Word, and Breath. Gracious One, you called us even before we were named, you loved us even before we took our first breath. Your mercy gives us new life, new beginnings; it refreshes us, renews us, revives us. May we live as new human beings, baptized as those who bless because we are blessed, for you are Overflowing Font, Living Water, Flowing River. Caring One, you know our needs before we ask, you seek only our good and the good of all your children. As those born of water and the Spirit, we seek to give birth to your life in the world around us. May we cling to you even as we live in the freedom of your Spirit, for you are Compassionate Mother, Beloved Child, and Life-giving Womb. |
Living One, in our life together as your church, we seek to nurture faith in children of all ages, to remain open to lifelong learning and growth in grace. Be present to all who would teach the faith, preach the gospel, and grow in the Spirit, for you are Sun, Ray, and Warmth. Loving One, your love and mercy are ours in abundance. You pour
your very self into our hearts through faith, making us one with you and
with one another. May you grace all our relationships; may we participate
in your reconciliation and forgiveness for you are Lover, Beloved, and
the Love that binds all things together. Steadfast One, your church is both shelter and saltshaker. You call
us to be in the world but not of it, to keep the faith and to give it
away. May we rest and dwell in you, even as you make a home with us, for
you are our Rock, our Cornerstone, our Temple. Passionate One, we seek to be your people in the face of great evil.
Give us the power to name injustice and to oppose it and to love our enemies
nonetheless. Fill us with your passion and compassion, for you are the
Fire that Consumes, the Hammer that Breaks, and the Storm that Melts Mountains. Faithful One, we see your hand in all the days of our lives, in memory and in hope. May we be always thankful for what is past and may we trust you with the future. We long to live each day in gratitude and faithfulness, for you are the One who was, the One who is, the One who is to come. Blessed be God, Three in One, One in Three, now and forever. Amen and Amen. |
